World Stock Markets
Lzzo.com groups stock markets by the country where shares are listed, so a company traded only in New York appears under the United States. The United States, Türkiye, Germany, France, Japan, and South Korea have their own market pages; other countries are sections of the Americas, Europe, and Asia-Pacific pages. The table shows 15 headline indices with their last value, daily change and time of the last update, and the trading hours page converts the sessions of 13 markets to UTC and Türkiye time.

World stock markets by country, listing venue and index
This page brings the world’s stock markets together by region and country. Each region’s headline indices are listed with their last value, the change of the last session and the time of the update; countries with enough data have their own market page, and the others have a section on their region page.
Why a share is filed under the exchange it trades on
A share appears under the country of the exchange where it trades, not under the country of the company’s head office. A depositary receipt (ADR) of a European company that trades in New York stays in the US list, because its price, session and currency belong to that market. The company’s own shares on its home exchange are shown in that country’s section.
What headline indices measure
A headline index sums up the price movement of a market’s major companies in a single number of points. The methods differ: the S&P 500 weights its members by free-float market value, while the Dow Jones and the Nikkei weight them by share price. The DAX is published as a total return index that includes dividends, so index levels cannot be compared across countries; only their percentage changes can be read side by side.
Last value and update time
Because exchanges open and close in different time zones, every row of the table carries its own update time. On an exchange whose session has ended, the value shown is the last close and stays the same until the next session opens. Asian markets trade during the European night and morning, so in the European afternoon their indices usually show that day’s close.
Currency and exchange-rate effects
Shares are shown in the currency of the exchange they trade on: Xetra and Paris shares in euros, Tokyo shares in yen and Borsa Istanbul shares in Turkish lira. When comparing returns across countries, keep in mind that exchange-rate moves change the result; an index that rises in its local currency may have moved less when measured in US dollars.
