What is Saudi Aramco (2222.SR)?
Saudi Arabian Oil Company, commonly known as Saudi Aramco, is an integrated energy and chemicals company based in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. Its shares trade on the Saudi Exchange (Tadawul) under the code 2222. Although the company went public in 2019, the great majority of its shares are held by the Saudi state and the country's Public Investment Fund (PIF).
Aramco's upstream operations cover the exploration and production of crude oil, natural gas and condensate. The downstream side includes refining, petrochemicals, fuel marketing and trading; in chemicals, the company holds a majority stake in SABIC. A significant share of its products is sold to international buyers, particularly in Asia.
