What is Chevron Corporation (CVX)?
Chevron Corporation is a US integrated energy company active across every link of the oil and natural gas chain. Its shares trade on the NYSE under the ticker CVX. Through the Hess acquisition it completed in 2025, the company became a partner in the large oil project offshore Guyana.
On the upstream side, prominent assets include the Permian and DJ basins in the US, deepwater fields in the Gulf of Mexico, the Tengiz field in Kazakhstan, LNG facilities in Australia and natural gas fields in the Eastern Mediterranean. The downstream unit includes refineries, petrochemical joint ventures and fuel stations under the Chevron, Texaco and Caltex brands. The company also invests in lower-carbon areas such as renewable fuels and hydrogen.
