How the rate is calculated

  • The average CPI of the last twelve months is divided by the average of the twelve months before; 1 is subtracted and the result multiplied by 100.
  • The rate of a data month applies to rents renewed in the following month: TurkStat publishes the September 2026 data early in October 2026.
  • New rent = current rent × (1 + rent increase rate ÷ 100). The parties may agree on a smaller increase.
  • The rate is calculated on the index base of the month it ends in (2003=100 up to December 2025, then 2025=100); December 2023 and December 2024 give the 53.86% and 58.51% TurkStat announced.
