What is Sumas Artificial Wood (SUMAS)?
Sumaş Suni Tahta ve Mobilya Sanayii A.S. is a forest products company with its production facility in the Edremit district of Balikesir and its head office in Uskudar, Istanbul. Its shares trade on Borsa Istanbul under the ticker SUMAS.
The company was founded in 1976 to make use of the forest industry potential of the Kaz Mountains and began producing artificial board in 1981. Over time, oriented strand board (OSB) production lines based on German technology were commissioned at the facility; production complies with the relevant European standard. Today the company's main product is OSB panels, offered in various sizes and thicknesses. OSB is a panel made by pressing thin wood strands with resin and is used in areas such as roofing, wall sheathing, packaging and furniture. Its activity description on KAP (Public Disclosure Platform) is the manufacture of forest products.
