Akcansa Cement

Akcansa Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. is a building materials company producing cement, clinker, ready-mixed concrete and aggregates. For many years the company was jointly managed by Sabanci Holding and Heidelberg Materials, and in 2026 Sabanci's shares were transferred to Heidelberg Materials. Its shares trade on Borsa Istanbul under the ticker AKCNS; AKCNS stock is among the industrial shares sensitive to the construction cycle.

The company produces at integrated cement plants, chiefly in Buyukcekmece, Istanbul and in Canakkale. Its ready-mixed concrete activities are run under the Betonsa brand at facilities in the Marmara and Aegean regions. The coastal location of the Canakkale plant provides logistical convenience for shipments and exports by sea.

For cement companies, domestic construction and infrastructure activity, export prices, the cost of energy items such as coal, petcoke and electricity, freight expenses and regulations on carbon emissions determine results.
