Park Electric Mining

Park Elektrik Uretim Madencilik Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. is a mining and energy company belonging to the Ciner Group. Founded in 1994 under the name Tac Tekstil, the company went public in 1997 and in 2000 changed its name and expanded its scope to mining and energy. Headquartered in Uskudar, Istanbul, the company's main shareholder is Park Holding; its shares trade on Borsa Istanbul under the ticker PRKME.

The company entered the mining sector through coal production and beneficiation; today it focuses on lignite and bauxite production. Its wholly owned subsidiary Konya Ilgin Elektrik Uretim carries out mining at the Ilgin lignite field under a royalty-based mining lease (rodovans) agreement and mining operation licenses. The domestic lignite produced there is expected to meet the fuel needs of the thermal power plant planned to be built in Ilgin.
