What is Kuzey Boru Plastic Pipes (KBORU)?
Kuzey Boru A.S. is an industrial company headquartered in the organized industrial zone in Aksaray that produces plastic and composite pipe systems for infrastructure and building projects. The company was founded in 2001, and its shares have traded on Borsa Istanbul under the ticker KBORU since 2023.
The infrastructure group includes glass fiber reinforced polyester (GRP, known in Turkey as CTP) pipes, HDPE pipes and corrugated pipes, along with their fittings; these products are used in drinking water, sewage, stormwater and irrigation lines. The building group produces PPR, PVC, PEX and PE-RT pipes for plumbing and heating systems in buildings. The company has an in-house R&D center; its products are sold domestically through a dealer network and are also exported to countries on different continents. The Kuzeyboru brand has also gained visibility in sports through its women's volleyball team.
For pipe manufacturers, the main variables investors follow are municipal and public infrastructure tenders, irrigation investments, prices of petrochemical raw materials such as polyethylene and polypropylene, export demand and the exchange rate level.
