Izmir Iron & Steel

Izmir Demir Celik Sanayi A.S. is an iron and steel company founded in 1975 in the heavy industry zone of the Aliaga district of Izmir to produce reinforcing bar. Its rolling mill was commissioned in 1983 and its steel melt shop in 1987. The shares have traded on the exchange under the ticker IZMDC since 1986.

The company produces liquid steel using electric arc furnace technology and casts it into billets and blooms. Its integrated rolling mill produces ribbed reinforcing bar in various diameters, while a section rolling mill commissioned in 2013 added structural sections to the product range. As a result, the company offers both rebar used in residential and infrastructure projects and sections used in steel construction and industrial buildings. Holding a sustainable construction steel certificate, the company shares its environmental, social and governance policies through sustainability reports.
