Goltas Cement

Goltas Goller Bolgesi Cimento Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. was founded in 1969 with the participation of a large number of shareholders to meet the cement needs of the Isparta, Burdur, Antalya and Denizli areas. The company presents itself as one of the early private-sector cement factories in Turkey. Its shares trade on Borsa Istanbul under the ticker GOLTS.

Its core business is the production of clinker, cement and ready-mixed concrete. The cement range includes Portland, Portland composite, pozzolanic and sulfate-resistant cements; products are sold domestically, and clinker and cement are also exported to many countries. The subsidiary Goltas Hazir Beton supplies ready-mixed concrete from plants in Isparta, Antalya and Burdur, while Goltas Enerji generates renewable electricity at two Esen hydroelectric power plants on the Esen River in Seydikemer, Mugla. The company operates an integrated management system covering quality, environment, occupational safety, information security and energy management.

For cement stocks, investors follow construction and infrastructure demand, export prices and freight, energy inputs such as coal and petroleum coke, carbon regulations and regional competition. In the company's case, the contribution of hydroelectric generation, which depends on rainfall conditions, is another factor reflected in its results.
