What is Ege Fertilizer (EGGUB)?
Ege Gubre Sanayii A.S. is a fertiliser and port operating company that was founded in 1973 and started fertiliser production in 1978. Its head office is in Izmir, and its production facilities and port are located on Nemrut Bay in the Aliaga district of Izmir. EGGUB shares trade on Borsa Istanbul.
The company has two main lines of business. On the fertiliser side, it has MAP (mono ammonium phosphate) and compound fertiliser production units as well as a coating material grinding unit; alongside its own compound fertilisers, it also offers farmers sourced fertilisers and specialty fertilisers. On the port side, containers, petroleum products, dry bulk, liquid bulk and general cargo are handled at its piers, and storage, bonded warehousing, container stuffing and unstuffing, repair and cleaning, and off-site services are provided. Mobile and rail-mounted cranes and reefer container connections are part of the port infrastructure.
For fertiliser producers, investors watch phosphate, ammonia and potash prices, natural gas costs, agricultural subsidies, farmers' purchasing power and harvest conditions. On the port side, foreign trade volume in the Aegean Region, container traffic and handling tariffs affect income; this dual structure sets EGGUB apart from pure fertiliser producers.
