What is Cemtas Steel (CEMTS)?
Cemtas Celik Makina Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. is an engineering steel producer based in the Fethiye Organized Industrial Zone in Bursa. Its business is the production of carbon and special alloy quality steels by hot and cold forming, together with manufacturing for automotive OEMs and the automotive supply industry. CEMTS shares trade on Borsa Istanbul.
The production chain consists of a melt shop, rolling mill, finishing lines, and heat treatment and peeling lines. Heat treatment covers soft annealing, stress relieving, quenching and tempering, and normalizing, while peeling and straightening machines produce bars with a high-quality surface finish. The product range includes round bars, peeled rounds, spring flats in various profiles and solid stabilizer bars used in vehicle suspensions. The quality laboratory runs surface crack and ultrasonic internal defect tests, and the company also carries out carbon transparency reporting as part of its green steel transition.
For special steel producers, the main issues investors watch are automotive and heavy vehicle production volumes, scrap and ferroalloy prices, electricity costs, Europe's carbon border regulation and export demand.
