Akmerkez REIT

Akmerkez Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi A.S. is a real estate investment trust (REIT) that operates the shopping mall in the Akmerkez complex in the Etiler area of Besiktas, Istanbul. The company's headquarters are also in the Akmerkez building on Nispetiye Caddesi. Its shares trade on Borsa Istanbul under the ticker AKMGY.

The Akmerkez complex consists of a shopping section, office towers and a residential section called Akmerkez Residence. The company's business is to lease space in the mall to tenants such as stores, restaurants and a cinema and to manage the center's operations; rents collected from tenants are its main source of income. This structure makes it a retail REIT concentrated on a single asset. The office and residential sections give the complex as a whole a mixed-use character.
