Akfen REIT

Akfen Gayrimenkul Yatirim Ortakligi A.S. is a real estate investment trust (REIT) headquartered in Levent, Istanbul. Its foundations were laid in 1997 under the name Aksel Turizm Yatirimlari, and the company converted to REIT status in 2006. Its shares have traded on Borsa Istanbul under the ticker AKFGY since 2011; because of the hotel-heavy portfolio, the Akfen REIT share price is assessed together with tourism and rental dynamics.

The core of the portfolio consists of city hotels operated under a long-term strategic partnership with Accor; the company introduced its contemporary city hotel concept in this field in 2007. The hotels are complemented by a holiday village, student dormitories, an office building, a factory and food-and-beverage and cultural venues such as Terminal Kadikoy. A significant share of the leases is based on long-term, inflation-protected contracts. Abroad, the company has development projects in the US state of Florida.
