Xylem Inc. is a water technology company headquartered in Washington, D.C. It became independent from ITT Corporation in 2011 and takes its name from xylem, the plant tissue that carries water. Its shares trade on the NYSE under the ticker XYL. It is a constituent of the S&P 500 index.
Xylem offers products and services across the whole cycle of collecting, moving, treating, using and measuring water. Its products include water and wastewater pumps, valves, filtration, disinfection technologies such as ultraviolet and ozone, smart water meters and water quality analysis instruments. The company expanded its industrial water treatment services in 2023 by acquiring Evoqua Water Technologies. Its customers are municipalities, industrial plants, homes and farms.
