Caterpillar Inc. is a US maker of construction machinery and engines based in Irving, Texas. Its shares trade on the NYSE under the ticker CAT. Its products are sold and serviced through a worldwide network of independent dealers.
Its operations are grouped into three main machinery segments. Construction Industries covers Cat-branded machines such as excavators, loaders and dozers. Resource Industries produces mining trucks and heavy mining equipment.
