Türk Hava Yolları A.O. (Turkish Airlines) is Turkey's flag carrier, with roots going back to the State Airlines (Devlet Hava Yollari) established in 1933. Headquartered in Yesilkoy, Istanbul, the company's main shareholder is the Turkey Wealth Fund, and its shares trade on Borsa Istanbul under the ticker THYAO. The airline is a member of the Star Alliance.
Its core business is scheduled passenger transport through an extensive flight network centered on Istanbul Airport.
