What is GSD Shipping (GSDDE)?
GSD Denizcilik Gayrimenkul Insaat Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. is the maritime transport company of the GSD Holding group. Headquartered in Maltepe, Istanbul, its shares trade on Borsa Istanbul under the ticker GSDDE, and its stated business is shipping and shipowning in national and international waters.
The company conducts its maritime activities through GSD Marin and GSD Shipping B.V. The fleet consists of Handysize and Ultramax bulk carriers used in international dry bulk shipping; the vessels were built at shipyards in South Korea and Japan, and some are fitted with fuel-saving design features. Besides its own ships, it also has vessels under its management. The company provides dry bulk transport between ports around the world through partnerships with operators in the sector, and the commercial and technical management of the vessels is coordinated within a centralised structure.
In dry bulk shipping, the Baltic Dry Index and freight rates specific to each vessel type, fuel prices, second-hand vessel values, fleet age and international rules on carbon emissions determine results. Because its income is denominated in US dollars, exchange-rate movements also matter. You can follow the technical picture of GSDDE shares with the chart and indicators on Lzzo.com.
