Its roots go back to Science Applications International Corporation, founded in 1969; the Leidos name emerged when that company was split into two separate companies in 2013. Most of Leidos's customers are US government agencies. In defense and intelligence it provides information systems, cybersecurity, surveillance and reconnaissance systems, and maritime and aviation support services. In the civil area it offers solutions for transport and air traffic, border and airport security, and customs. In health it provides medical and information technology services for former service members and public health agencies. Some services are also provided to allied countries outside the United States.
