What is Isbank Class B (ISBTR)?
Turkiye Is Bankasi A.S. is a deposit bank founded in 1924 as a national bank of the Republic, with its head office at the Is Towers in Levent, Istanbul. The bank's capital is divided into different share groups; the ISBTR ticker represents Class B shares, while the more actively traded Class C shares trade on Borsa Istanbul under the ticker ISCTR. ISBTR is therefore a different share class of the same bank and an instrument with lower trading depth.
The bank offers retail customers personal, auto and housing loans, Maximum and Maximiles cards, deposits, investment products such as mutual funds, equities, bonds and gold, and insurance and private pension solutions; IsCep and internet banking form the basis of its digital channels. On the commercial side, there are SME, tradesmen and agricultural banking, foreign trade finance and POS services. Isbank has numerous affiliates in the finance, glass, energy, technology, and healthcare and services groups; Anadolu Sigorta, Anadolu Hayat Emeklilik, Is Yatirim, Is Finansal Kiralama, the real estate investment trust (REIT) Is GYO and TSKB are among the companies in its finance group.
For banking stocks, the main indicators investors watch are the interest rate environment, net interest margin, deposit costs, loan growth, non-performing loans and capital adequacy. In Isbank's case, the value of its listed affiliates also plays a role in the assessment, while the price gap between ISBTR and ISCTR may reflect the liquidity difference between the share groups.
