What is Howmet Aerospace Inc. (HWM)?
Howmet Aerospace Inc. is a maker of aerospace and transportation components headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Its origins go back to Alcoa, founded in 1888; in 2020 the company changed its name from Arconic to Howmet Aerospace and left the aluminium rolling business to a separate company. Its shares trade on the NYSE under the ticker HWM and the company is included in the S&P 500.
Operations are carried out in four segments. Engine Products makes cast airfoils and turbine parts for aircraft and industrial gas turbines. Fastening Systems supplies fasteners used in airframes and engines. Engineered Structures produces titanium and aluminium structural parts. Forged Wheels develops forged aluminium wheels for commercial trucks.
The customer base is mainly aircraft and engine makers and the defence industry, so the company's results are followed together with aircraft deliveries and aviation maintenance demand. On the HWM page at Lzzo.com, the share price is shown in US dollars, the currency it trades in, alongside a historical price chart and technical indicators.
