Akin Textile Fabrics

Akın Tekstil A.S. is a textile manufacturer that, according to its corporate history, was founded in 1956 in Bakirkoy, Istanbul. The company opened its fully integrated factory in Luleburgaz in 1996 and floated part of its shares in an initial public offering (IPO) the same year; ATEKS shares have traded on Borsa Istanbul ever since. Its head office is still in Bakirkoy.

The integrated structure covers spinning, weaving, dyeing and finishing, and garment making. On the fabric side, next-generation weaving looms produce a wide range of fabrics, and the company's history notes its initial work with colour-coated fabrics and new fibre types. On the garment side, it acts as an integrated solutions partner for outerwear brands. The company has exported directly to Europe for many years. Solar panels on the factory roof cover part of its energy needs from a renewable source, and it holds numerous international certifications covering organic and recycled fibres, chemical management and social compliance.
