What is Venus (XVS)?
Venus Protocol is a decentralized money market protocol in which users can deposit crypto assets as collateral to borrow other assets, or lend their assets to earn interest income. Launched on BNB Chain in 2020, the protocol later expanded to networks such as Ethereum, Arbitrum, Base and ZKsync. In return for the assets they deposit, users receive interest-bearing representative tokens.
XVS is the governance token of Venus: token holders can vote on proposals concerning matters such as interest rate models, collateral ratios and the addition of new markets; staked XVS also allows participation in the protocol's reward programs. The protocol also supports a stablecoin called VAI. In lending protocols, a fall in collateral value can lead to liquidation; smart contract and price oracle risks are also among the general risks of such protocols.
On Lzzo.com, the Venus price is shown by converting the Binance XVS/USDT pair to US dollars using Coinbase Exchange's USDT/USD rate.
