What is Maple Finance (SYRUP)?
Maple Finance is a lending platform that offers loans collateralized by crypto assets to institutional borrowers and raises the funding for these loans through on-chain pools. Credit assessment and collateral management are handled by Maple, while those who supply liquidity to the pools receive a share of the interest income. The platform's products, such as syrupUSDC and syrupUSDT, are designed to pass the yield from this lending activity on to stablecoin holders; the yield depends on borrowers' repayment performance.
SYRUP is the governance and staking token of the Maple ecosystem; it was issued in 2024 to replace the earlier MPL token, and MPL holders were offered a conversion. The token is on Ethereum and also has a contract address on the Base network. Users who stake SYRUP can receive rewards and take part in governance decisions; allocating part of the protocol's income to SYRUP buybacks was also approved by a governance vote.
Listed in the catalogue as Maple Finance, this asset trades on exchanges under the symbol SYRUP. The price on Lzzo.com is Binance SYRUP/USDT data converted to US dollars using the Coinbase USDT/USD rate and is for information only.
