What is Stable (STABLE)?
Stable is a layer-one blockchain compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine and designed for stablecoin payments and transfers. The defining feature of the network, also called StableChain, is that transaction fees (gas) are paid in Tether's USDT stablecoin rather than in a separate native token, so users do not need to hold a second token to make transfers. The project is backed by the Bitfinex ecosystem, and the network targets sub-second transaction confirmation.
STABLE is the network's fixed-supply native token. Because fees are paid in USDT, STABLE's role is limited to security and governance: the token is staked with validators in a delegated proof-of-stake system called StableBFT and is used in votes on protocol decisions. The mainnet and the token became available with the establishment of the Stable Foundation. According to its CoinGecko listing, STABLE has contract addresses on BNB Chain and in the Hyperliquid ecosystem as well as on its own network.
Although its name may suggest a stablecoin, STABLE's value is not fixed and is set freely in the market. The price on Lzzo.com is DefiLlama's US dollar reference.
