What is Purr?
Purr is a cat-themed meme token issued in the Hyperliquid ecosystem and traded under the symbol PURR. In 2024 the token was distributed as one of the first tokens on Hyperliquid's native spot market and became one of the early examples introducing the ecosystem's token standard. Part of the distribution was made to Hyperliquid users via airdrop.
PURR exists on Hyperliquid's order-book-based network (HyperCore) and in the HyperEVM environment, which is compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine. The token is not tied to any product or income model; its value is shaped by community interest and activity in the Hyperliquid ecosystem. It gives holders no right to cash flows and involves no company commitment. It should not be confused with HYPE, Hyperliquid's own native token. In CoinGecko data, the token is listed with the Hyperliquid and HyperEVM platforms.
