What is Polymesh (POLYX)?
Polymesh is a layer-one blockchain designed for the on-chain issuance and transfer of regulated assets, particularly security tokens. The network, which moved to mainnet in October 2021, was developed by the Polymath team, which works in the field of securities tokenization, and is built on the Substrate framework.
What sets Polymesh apart from general-purpose networks is that it provides identity, compliance and settlement functions at the protocol level. Every account on the network needs to be linked to a verified identity; asset issuers can encode transfer restrictions and eligibility rules directly into the chain rules. Blocks are produced by permissioned node operators made up of licensed entities, while the community takes part in the governance process.
POLYX is the network's native token; it is used for transaction fees, staking and governance and came about through an upgrade of the earlier Ethereum-based POLY token. On Lzzo.com, the Polymesh price is calculated from the Binance USDT pair, converted to dollars using the Coinbase Exchange rate and is for information.
