What is Plasma (XPL)?
Plasma is a layer-one blockchain compatible with the Ethereum Virtual Machine, designed specifically for stablecoin payments and transfers. The network's mainnet beta and its native token, XPL, were launched in September 2025. Plasma's main goal is to make dollar-based stablecoins usable for everyday payments quickly and at low cost.
The network uses the PlasmaBFT consensus protocol, derived from the Fast HotStuff family, and a Reth-based execution layer written in Rust. Thanks to a protocol-level paymaster, simple USDT transfers can be made without passing fees on to the user; for other transactions, fees can be paid in XPL or other supported tokens. A bridge for bringing Bitcoin to the network is also being developed in the ecosystem.
XPL is the native token that validators stake to secure the network and that is used for transaction fees and ecosystem incentives. The Plasma price on Lzzo.com is calculated by converting the Binance XPL/USDT pair into dollars using the USDT/USD rate on Coinbase Exchange and is for information.
