What is Open USD (OUSD)?
Open USD (OUSD) is a US dollar-pegged stablecoin run by an initiative called Open Standard and issued by Bridge, which is owned by Stripe. According to the Solana Foundation's announcement, the token launched at the end of September 2026 and is minted natively on Ethereum, Solana, Base and Tempo; on these networks the directly issued token is used rather than a wrapped version. The initiative's founding partners are Coinbase, Mastercard, Shopify, Stripe and Visa.
Businesses can mint and redeem OUSD against dollars at a one-to-one rate without paying fees. According to the announcement, the reserves are held with BlackRock, Lead Bank and BNY, and attestation reports on the reserves are published every month. According to industry press reports, what sets OUSD apart from other dollar stablecoins is its economic model: part of the income earned from the reserves is shared with partner institutions that contribute to the token's distribution.
DefiLlama classifies the token among fiat-backed stablecoins. The dollar peg is a design goal; because the product is new, details on liquidity and institutional structure will become clearer over time. The Open USD price on Lzzo.com is based on DefiLlama's US dollar reference data and is for information only.
