AB

AB is the token of a blockchain ecosystem previously known as Newton Project (NEW) that rebranded under the AB DAO umbrella. Although the CoinGecko listing still uses the old project identity, the current name and symbol are AB. The project describes itself as an ecosystem built on decentralization, cross-chain interoperability and the integration of real-world assets into the digital economy.

According to the project description, the architecture is a heterogeneous multi-chain structure made up of a mainnet called AB Core and sector-specific sidechains. Protocols have been defined called Universal Transfer Protocol (UTP), for fee abstraction, and Extended Value Transfer (EVT), for tokenizing physical assets with traceability features. The AB token is stated to be used for transaction fees, AB DAO governance, asset tokenization, cross-border payments and ecosystem incentives.
