What is Injective (INJ)?
Injective is a layer-one blockchain focused on financial applications such as derivatives trading, spot exchanges and tokenized assets. It was developed with the Cosmos SDK and, thanks to the IBC protocol, can exchange assets with other chains in the Cosmos ecosystem. INJ is the network's native coin.
What sets Injective apart from general-purpose chains is that it offers a ready-made on-chain order book module, so exchange and futures applications do not have to write matching infrastructure from scratch. The network runs on proof-of-stake consensus: validators and the users who delegate to them secure the network by staking INJ, earn rewards and vote on governance proposals. Part of the fees generated in applications is converted into INJ through regular auctions and burned; this mechanism works to reduce supply. The network also offers EVM support aimed at Ethereum developers.
The main factors affecting the INJ price are transaction and derivatives volume on the network, the size of the burn auctions, the staking ratio, competing finance-focused chains and the regulatory stance toward derivative products. The Injective page on Lzzo.com converts the INJ/USDT price on Binance into dollars at Coinbase Exchange's USDT/USD rate and presents the chart from this series.
