What is Huma Finance (HUMA)?
Huma Finance is a protocol that describes itself as a payment financing (PayFi) network and provides on-chain liquidity to real-world payment flows. It runs mainly on Solana and is also deployed on BNB Chain. HUMA is the protocol's token and is available on both of these networks.
In traditional payment systems, for example in cross-border transfers or the settlement of card payments, it can take days for funds to reach their destination, and businesses need pre-financing during this period. Huma channels liquidity gathered from stablecoin providers to licensed payment institutions to meet this short-term financing need; in return, liquidity providers receive the yield generated by the payment flows. The protocol targets areas such as cross-border payments, card payments and trade finance. HUMA is staked to take part in reward programs; protocol participants can also pay service fees in HUMA.
The HUMA price may change depending on the actual payment volume passing through the protocol, the repayment performance of financed receivables, token unlocks and regulatory developments in stablecoins and payments. On the Huma Finance page on Lzzo.com, the price is taken from the HUMA/USDT pair on Binance, converted into dollars at Coinbase Exchange's USDT/USD rate and shown in the chart.
