Global Dollar

Global Dollar, USDG for short, is a stablecoin issued by Paxos and pegged to the US dollar. In Singapore it is issued by Paxos Digital Singapore, which is supervised by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS); in the European Union it is issued through Paxos Issuance Europe under the oversight of Finland's financial supervisory authority and complies with the EU's MiCA regulation. The token is available on networks such as Solana, Ethereum, Arbitrum, Mantle, Ink and X Layer.

The reserves of USDG consist of cash and cash equivalents held in segregated accounts for the benefit of token holders; the reserves are subject to monthly independent attestations and annual audits. The token can be redeemed one-to-one for US dollars through Paxos. USDG also sits at the center of a partnership structure called the Global Dollar Network, which brings together exchanges, payment companies and infrastructure providers; institutions in this network contribute to the distribution of the stablecoin and its use on different chains.

As a stablecoin, the main points watched for USDG are whether it deviates from the dollar, the regularity of reserve reports, the issuer's licensing conditions and stablecoin legislation in different regions.
