Flow

Flow is a layer-one blockchain developed by the Dapper Labs team, known for digital collectibles products such as CryptoKitties and an NBA collectibles platform. It was designed with games, digital collectibles and consumer applications aimed at a broad user base in mind. FLOW is the network's native coin.

What sets Flow apart from other networks is an architecture that splits the work of processing transactions across different node types: collecting transactions, reaching consensus, executing them and verifying the results are handled by separate nodes. Smart contracts can be written in Cadence, a language that treats assets as resources, and thanks to the later addition of Flow EVM they can also be developed with Ethereum tools. FLOW is used to pay transaction fees, for staking by the node operators who secure the network and the users who delegate to them, and to cover accounts' on-chain storage space.

The course of the Flow ecosystem may change depending on interest in collectibles projects run with sports and entertainment brands, developer activity and the new supply created by staking rewards.
