What is eCash (XEC)?
eCash is a proof-of-work cryptocurrency that emerged from a split in the Bitcoin Cash network and later continued under a new name. The network's own coin is XEC. The project aims to carry forward the idea of electronic cash with its Bitcoin heritage and has redenominated its units to make them easier to use in small payments.
eCash retains a Bitcoin-like UTXO structure and SHA-based mining; in addition, it runs a voting protocol called Avalanche among nodes. This layer helps the network quickly accept blocks and transactions before mining confirmation and provides additional protection against chain reorganizations. Nodes participating in the Avalanche layer show a certain amount of XEC as stake and can receive a share of the block reward. XEC is used for fee payments, transfers and moving assets such as eTokens issued on the network.
The XEC price may be influenced by its level of adoption as a payment network, the functioning of the Avalanche layer, mining economics, exchange liquidity and general interest in Bitcoin-derived projects. The eCash price on Lzzo.com is taken from the XEC/USDT pair on Binance; the USDT value is converted into dollars at Coinbase Exchange's USDT/USD rate, and the chart follows this series.
