What is DUSK?
Dusk is a privacy-focused layer-one network that aims to let securities and other regulated financial assets be issued and traded on the blockchain. The project aims to offer infrastructure that can operate in line with European financial regulations and has announced collaborations with institutions such as NPEX, a licensed trading platform in the Netherlands. DUSK initially entered circulation as a token on Ethereum and BNB Chain; with the launch of the mainnet it became Dusk's native coin, and holders were able to move their assets to the native network.
The network uses zero-knowledge proofs so that verification can take place without making transaction details public; the goal is to preserve privacy on the public ledger while providing the necessary information to authorized parties. Consensus is based on a proof-of-stake model in which participants who stake DUSK, called provisioners, propose and approve blocks. DUSK is used for transaction fees, staking and network security. Layers such as DuskEVM, which aims to run Ethereum-compatible smart contracts, are also being developed in the ecosystem.
Key issues that may affect the DUSK price are institutional interest in the tokenization of real-world assets, regulatory processes in Europe, the pace at which partnerships are put into practice, and exchange policies on privacy technologies. The dollar price on the Lzzo.com page is taken from DUSK/USDT trading on Binance; this series, converted at Coinbase Exchange's USDT/USD rate, is also used in the chart.
