Veolia Environnement SA

Veolia Environnement SA is a French environmental services company headquartered in Aubervilliers, in the Paris region; its roots go back to the Compagnie Générale des Eaux, founded in 1853. Its shares trade on Euronext Paris under the ticker VIE, and the company is part of the main stock index of the Paris exchange, the CAC. In 2022 the company widened its structure by taking over a significant part of its rival Suez.

Veolia's operations are grouped in three main areas. Water services cover drinking water production and distribution and wastewater treatment, and rest on long-term contracts with municipalities or industrial organizations. Waste services include the collection, processing, recycling and disposal of hazardous and household waste. Energy services provide district heating and cooling and energy efficiency solutions for industrial facilities. The company works in these areas in many countries around the world.
