What is Engie SA (ENGI.PA)?
Engie SA is an energy and infrastructure group headquartered in Courbevoie, near Paris, France. The group was formed in 2008 through the merger of Gaz de France and Suez as GDF Suez and took the Engie name in 2015. Its shares trade on Euronext Paris under the ticker ENGI. The shares are included in the CAC 40 index of Euronext Paris.
Engie generates electricity from renewable sources such as wind, solar and hydropower, operates natural gas and electricity networks and storage infrastructure, and offers energy efficiency, heating and cooling services to businesses and cities. The group also holds interests in flexible gas and electricity generation plants and in the operation of nuclear plants in Belgium. Retail electricity and gas sales and energy trading are also among its activities.
