What is Phillips 66 (PSX)?
Phillips 66 is a US energy and fuels company headquartered in Houston, Texas. Its shares trade on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker PSX, and the company is included in the S&P 500 index. It was established as an independent company in 2012 when the refining, marketing and chemicals businesses of ConocoPhillips were separated.
Its activities fall into several areas: the midstream business covering pipelines and storage, petrochemicals through CPChem, a joint venture run with Chevron, refineries that turn crude oil into fuels, and the marketing of fuels, lubricants and specialty products. On the marketing side the Phillips 66 and Conoco brands are used. The Rodeo facility in California has been converted to renewable diesel production.
