Petróleo Brasileiro S.A. - Petrobras is an integrated oil and natural gas company controlled by the Brazilian state. Its common and preferred shares trade on Brazil's local stock exchange. The security trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker PBR is an American depositary share (ADS) representing the company's common shares; there is a separate ADS for the preferred shares.

The company's production comes mainly from deepwater fields off the coast of Brazil, particularly the reservoirs known as pre-salt. In addition to exploration and production, it operates most of the refineries in Brazil and supplies gasoline, diesel, jet fuel and other products to the domestic market.
