What is ONEOK, Inc. (OKE)?
ONEOK, Inc. is a US energy infrastructure company headquartered in Tulsa, Oklahoma; its roots go back to the Oklahoma Natural Gas Company, founded in 1906. Its shares trade on the NYSE under the ticker OKE and are included in S&P's broad-based US stock index. The company does not extract oil or gas; it gathers, processes and transports hydrocarbons that come out of production fields.
ONEOK's structure forms the middle link of the energy value chain. Natural gas gathering and processing makes gas from production fields suitable for pipelines. The natural gas liquids business separates products such as ethane, propane and butane, then moves and stores them through pipelines. Natural gas pipelines carry gas to consumption centers. In 2023 the company acquired Magellan Midstream Partners and thereby also entered refined products and crude oil transportation.
Those following ONEOK stock usually watch natural gas and natural gas liquids production volumes, pipeline capacity investments and export demand. On the OKE page at Lzzo.com the share price is shown in US dollars, and the page also offers a historical price chart and technical indicators.
