Metro Holding

Metro Ticari ve Mali Yatırımlar Holding A.S. is an investment holding based in Beykoz, Istanbul. Its shares trade on Borsa Istanbul under the ticker METRO.

The company was founded in Van in 1977 as a World Bank project under the name Van-Et A.S.; in its early years it was engaged in raising and slaughtering cattle, sheep, goats and poultry and producing meat products. Its shares have traded on the exchange since 1988, the same year its integrated meat facilities began production. Management of the company passed to the Metro Group in 2006, its name was changed in 2009, and from August 2010 it began operating as a holding. Today it has affiliates in tourism, facility management, food, mining and energy; the affiliate list on KAP (Public Disclosure Platform) includes Vanet Gida, Samsun Gida, Metro Turizm and a company working in petroleum and facilities.
