General Motors Company is a US automaker headquartered in Detroit, Michigan, and founded in 1908. Its shares trade on the NYSE under the ticker GM and are included in S&P's broad-based US stock index. The company took its current legal form after the restructuring of 2009.
GM sells passenger cars, SUVs and light commercial vehicles under the Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac brands.
