What is E.ON SE (EOAN.DE)?
E.ON SE is an energy company headquartered in Essen, Germany. The company was formed in 2000 through the merger of VEBA and VIAG. Its shares trade on the Xetra platform in Frankfurt under the ticker EOAN, and the company is a member of the DAX 40 index. In 2016 it spun off its conventional power generation business as Uniper and focused on networks and customer services.
Activities run in two main lines. The energy networks line operates electricity and natural gas distribution networks in Germany and in Central and Eastern Europe; regional subsidiaries such as Westenergie, Bayernwerk and Avacon are part of this structure. The customer solutions line, alongside energy sales to homes and businesses, offers solar power systems, heat pumps, charging infrastructure, district heating and energy efficiency services. Because the network business is regulated, a significant part of income depends on the framework set by regulators.
Those following E.ON stock typically track the allowed return framework in network regulation, network investment rising because of the energy transition, electricity demand and interest rate levels. On the EOAN.DE page at Lzzo.com the price is shown in euros, its trading currency, and US dollar or Turkish lira equivalents can also be selected. A price chart and technical indicators appear on the same page.
