State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF

XLV is a health care sector fund offered by State Street Investment Management. Long known as the Health Care Select Sector SPDR Fund, the fund was renamed State Street Health Care Select Sector SPDR ETF in December 2025. The fund trades on NYSE Arca.

According to the issuer, the fund's objective is to provide results that, before expenses, generally correspond to the price and yield performance of the Health Care Select Sector Index. This index consists of the health care companies in S&P's broad index of large US companies and covers six sub-industries: pharmaceutical makers; medical device and supplies companies; health care providers along with insurance and distribution firms; biotechnology companies; laboratory and research tool makers; and health care technology. In this way, investors gain access through a single ticker to a basket ranging from large drug companies to hospital and health insurance companies.
