State Street Industrial Select Sector SPDR ETF

XLI is a sector fund focused on US industrial companies and managed by State Street. Formerly named Industrial Select Sector SPDR Fund, the fund has been called State Street Industrial Select Sector SPDR ETF since December 2025 and trades on NYSE Arca.

The fund's goal is to correspond generally, before expenses, to the price and yield performance of the Industrial Select Sector Index. The companies in the index are selected from the industrial components of S&P's large-company US index and span a very wide range: aerospace and defense, industrial conglomerates, construction machinery and machinery manufacturing, electrical equipment, construction and engineering, building products, rail and ground transportation, air freight and logistics, airlines, marine shipping, transportation infrastructure, commercial and professional services, and trading companies and distributors. This diversity makes the fund an indicator of the investment and production side of the economy.

Those following XLI track purchasing managers' indices for manufacturing, infrastructure and defense spending, deliveries in the aerospace sector, transportation volumes and tariffs. The market price of a fund share may at times diverge from its net asset value (NAV).
