What is Vanguard Value ETF (VTV)?
The Vanguard Value ETF is an exchange-traded fund offered by Vanguard that aims to track the CRSP US Large Cap Value Index. It trades in the US on NYSE Arca under the ticker VTV.
The index selects, from among large US companies, those with value characteristics; criteria such as relatively low valuations against book value, earnings and sales are used to make this distinction. As a result, financial, health care, industrial, energy and consumer staples companies hold a prominent place in the portfolio, while the technology weighting is lower than in growth-oriented funds. Because some value stocks are mature companies that pay regular dividends, investors also associate the fund with dividend-focused strategies; however, the fund's objective is to track a value index, not a dividend index.
VTV's market price can diverge slightly from the fund's net asset value (NAV) during the day. The VTV page on Lzzo.com features the price in US dollars, a historical chart and technical indicators; for the expense ratio and current composition, Vanguard's product page can be used as the reference.
