What is Vanguard FTSE Developed Markets ETF (VEA)?
The Vanguard FTSE Developed Markets ETF (VEA) is an exchange-traded fund managed by Vanguard that invests in stocks of developed countries outside the US. The fund aims to track the performance of the FTSE Developed All Cap ex US Index and trades on NYSE Arca under the ticker VEA. VEA is the exchange-traded share class of the Vanguard Developed Markets Index Fund.
The index covers large, mid and small-cap companies in Canada, Europe and the Asia-Pacific region; the countries with higher weights include Japan, the United Kingdom, Canada, France, Germany, Switzerland and Australia. The fund is passively managed; it tries to bring its return close to that of the index by investing directly in all or most of the stocks in the index. Emerging markets and US stocks fall outside the scope of this fund.
The returns of funds like this are affected by exchange rate movements, regional economic conditions and changes in index composition. The ETF's trading price on the exchange may deviate somewhat from the fund's net asset value (NAV) during the day. The VEA page on Lzzo.com brings together the price of a fund share in US dollars, the option to convert into Turkish lira, euros or pounds sterling, a historical chart, technical indicators, the data source and the time of the last update.
