iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF

The iShares 20+ Year Treasury Bond ETF is an exchange-traded fund in BlackRock's iShares range that focuses on long-term US government bonds. According to the issuer, the fund aims to track an ICE index of US Treasury bonds with maturities of 20+ years and trades on Nasdaq under the ticker TLT.

The index consists of fixed-rate, US dollar-denominated Treasury bonds with more than twenty years remaining to maturity. The fund tries to reflect the index's return by holding these bonds in its portfolio and passes the interest income earned on the bonds to shareholders in the form of periodic distributions. From the issuer's standpoint, the credit risk is tied to the US government; however, because of the long maturities, the fund's sensitivity to interest rate changes, that is, its duration, is high.
