iShares China Large-Cap ETF

The iShares China Large-Cap ETF is a country fund offered under BlackRock's iShares brand that invests in large Chinese companies. According to the issuer, the fund tracks an index made up of large-cap Chinese stocks listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, FTSE Russell's China large-company index. Its shares trade on NYSE Arca under the ticker FXI.

The index is a concentrated basket made up of a limited number of large, liquid Chinese companies. It includes internet and e-commerce companies, large state-controlled banks, insurers, energy and telecom companies, and automotive and consumer companies. Its scope is limited to H shares traded in Hong Kong, companies known as red chips and similar shares; local A shares in Shanghai and Shenzhen are not included in the index. The fund aims to approach the index return by holding the index constituents in its portfolio.

Because the Hong Kong and US sessions take place at different times, a gap can form between the fund's price and its net asset value (NAV).
